Why this exists

Training is part of the obligation itself

The obligation

AML/CTF policies must address training for people who perform functions relevant to the organisation’s obligations. The Rules require training to be initial and ongoing, appropriate to each person’s function, risks and responsibilities, and readily understandable.

AML/CTF Act 2006 · s 26F(4)(e)AML/CTF Rules 2025 · s 5‑9

What we built for it

A course that assumes the question will be asked. Each person gets their own account, their own assessments and their own dated record — so “who was trained, on what, and when” has an answer you can produce rather than reconstruct.

Why training matters — what the law actually says

Training is one part of the wider program. See how the AML/CTF program fits together.

Foundations is free — and stays free

  • All 15 Foundations lessons — 56 minutes of video
  • Every lesson quiz and the module checkpoint

The course

Eight modules, from first principles to your profession

Short lessons, in order, each one landing a single idea. The law is quoted verbatim on screen where it matters, with the plain-English reading straight after it — and every lesson names the sections it rests on.

At your own pace

How a lesson becomes learning

  1. 01

    Watch a short lesson

Each lesson is one idea in a few minutes of video — under four minutes on average — with the law quoted on screen and the plain-English reading straight after it.

  2. 02

    Answer three questions

Every lesson ends with a three-question quiz, graded on the spot with an explanation for each answer. Pass at 80%, retry as often as you like — the questions reshuffle each time.

  3. 03

    Pass the module checkpoint

Finish every lesson in a module and a twelve-question checkpoint opens, sampled across the whole module. That is what turns watching into demonstrated understanding.

  4. 04

    Stop anywhere, return anytime

Progress saves continuously. Close the laptop mid-lesson and the course reopens at the same minute — most people finish across many short sittings, at their own pace.

Come back whenever you need a refresher — completed modules stay open for review for the life of the access period, and the course tells you exactly where you left off.

What you are left holding

Training becomes evidence, or it was decoration

  1. 01

    Assessed, not just watched

A lesson only counts when its video is watched and its quiz is passed, and every module ends in a checkpoint. Sitting through a video completes nothing.

  2. 02

    Certificates that name the law

Every completed module earns a serial-numbered certificate, and finishing all eight issues the full-course certificate — each recording the learner, the date, and the exact compilation of the Act and the Rules they were trained against, verifiable by QR code by anyone you give it to.

  3. 03

A record that outlives the licence

Progress, results and certificates are kept as a training record and stay available after the access period ends — because the question “show me who was trained, and when” is usually asked long afterwards.

Said plainly

What this training is not

Not legal advice

The Academy explains how the law is generally understood. It is general information, not legal or compliance advice, and no adviser relationship arises from using it.

Not a compliance guarantee

Completing the course does not, by itself, make you or your business compliant. Training is one obligation among several, and your own AML/CTF program is the rulebook you have to follow.

No AUSTRAC endorsement claim

Lex-AML does not claim that the course is approved, accredited or endorsed by AUSTRAC. It is not a VET qualification, and we make no CPD accreditation claim.

Not a substitute for your program

The course teaches the regime. Deciding what training your program requires, and whether this course meets it, remains your decision to make and to document.

Questions

Before you start

What is actually free?
Module A — Foundations is free, and stays free: all 15 lessons, every lesson quiz, the module checkpoint and a Foundations module certificate. It needs an account and nothing else — no card, no trial clock. The free Learn library on this site is more open still: 29 videos with no sign-up at all.
What does a licence cost?
AUD $199 + GST per learner for 12 months ($218.90 including GST). One licence trains one named person and includes everything — all 148 lessons, the assessments, the certificates and the training record. There are no plans, tiers or discount codes. Teams of 26 or more are priced by arrangement: email australia@getpostlabs.io.
Who in my business needs AML/CTF training?
Your AML/CTF policies must deal with training people who are employed or otherwise engaged by the reporting entity and perform, or will perform, functions relevant to its AML/CTF obligations. The Rules require the training to be appropriate to the person’s function, the ML/TF risks relevant to that function and the person’s responsibilities, and to be readily understandable. Your program should determine which people need which training and keep the record of it.
How long does it take to finish?
There are 148 lessons and about 9 hours 18 minutes of video, averaging under four minutes a lesson. Most people work through it across several sittings rather than in one block — progress is saved, and a learner returns to exactly where they stopped. Access runs for 12 months from purchase.
Can I buy licences for my whole team?
Yes. Licences are bought inside the Academy: create a free account or sign in, open My licences, and buy as many as you need. Each one is assigned to a named learner and you invite them by email. As the licence owner you can see each learner’s progress, results and certificates, export training records, and review a history of every licence action.
What happens when the law changes?
We maintain the course against the current law and revise the affected lessons when a new compilation of the Act or the Rules is registered. Certificates already issued are not altered — each one records the compilation it was taught from, so an old certificate stays an honest record of what that person was trained on at that time.
Is the certificate worth anything to a regulator?
A certificate evidences that the named learner completed this course and passed its assessments, against a stated version of the law. That is what training records are for. It is not an endorsement or accreditation by AUSTRAC or any other regulator, and it is not a determination that your business complies.
Is there a mobile app?
The Academy runs in the browser today. A dedicated app for iPhone, iPad and Android is in development, and we will release it if enough learners want one — if that is you, tell us at australia@getpostlabs.io.
Can you design a customised program for us?
Yes. If your practice wants the training shaped around its own services, roles and risks — which modules each person needs and in what order — or the AML/CTF program built alongside it, tell us what you are after at australia@getpostlabs.io and we will scope it with you.
Can you deliver the training in person?
Yes, by arrangement. The course itself runs online so each person can work through it at their own pace and be assessed individually, but we are glad to come and run a session with your team, walk through what the regime means for your practice, and take questions in the room. Email australia@getpostlabs.io to arrange it.
Are you still refining the course?
Yes, and we intend to keep doing it. We are watching how the material actually lands — whether the explanations make sense to people meeting this regime for the first time, and how much of it is genuinely absorbed rather than just watched — and we revise lessons on what we learn, as well as when a new compilation of the Act or the Rules is registered. If something did not land for you, tell us: australia@getpostlabs.io.
Where are you based, and can we meet?
GetPost Labs is at 92 Guroman Drive, Greenbank QLD 4124, just south of Brisbane. We would genuinely like to meet the people using this — if you are nearby, or passing through, you are most welcome. Email australia@getpostlabs.io and we will find a time.

Everything the licence covers is set out in the Terms of Service, and how we handle learner data is in the Privacy Policy.
